Archangel Gabriel and the Virtues of the Moon
Archangel Gabriel (Abruel, Gabrielus, Gavri'el), meaning God is my strength, is the trumpeting angel who presides over the final judgment. He also governs over the angels of Monday and the Moon. The Archangel Gabriel is the angel of “annunciation, resurrection, mercy, vengeance, death, and revelation.” He is the ruling prince of the First Heaven and sits at the left hand of God.
This sphere focuses on nocturnal visions and messages, reconciliation, business by way of water, summoning spirits in sleep, the recovery of stolen property, and anything concerning water.
In the Rider-Waite Tarot deck the Judgment card is associated with the Archangel Gabriel, as this card visually depicts the last judgment of humankind. In the illustration, the trumpet awakens men, women, and children, as they rise from their graves to accept their eternity.
